The blog software Wordpress has just been updated to version 2.0. I hope this update didn’t break anything here. An update of the used theme Clasikue to version 1.1 had to be delayed.

Released 2 new firmwares

1.X5 for the ND-4550A drive
1-Z1 for the ND-4551A drive.

Bitsetting for DVD+R and DVD+RW has been added to the latest NEC ND4550A and NEC ND4551A Firmwares. Download 1.07 Bitsetting Firmware for the 4550 and 1-07 Bitsetting Firmware for the 4551 on our NEC 4550 and 4551 Firmware page.

Binflash has been updated to version 1.23. Changes include a proper support for NEC ND4551A retail drives and experimental support for NEC ND7550A and ND7551A drives.

Together with Binflash support for the 7550 and 7551 the RPC1 firmware 1.01 for the 7550 has been published.

The NEC Drive Converter has been updated to version 1.30 to include support for some newer drives and add a fix for 3550/4550/4551.

Please note that using this program does not enable DVD-RAM on 3550 or Labelflash on 4550 or 4551 drives.

The 1.07 firmware for the NEC ND4550A just arrived. Download original and RPC1 firmwares on our NEC ND4550 Firmware page. This probably means that there won’t be a bitsetting version of 1.06b now.

Recently a new 1.06 firmware (we’ll call it 1.06b) has been added for the NEC ND4550A. Not much seems to have changed, but it might be worth updating. Original and RPC1 firmwares are available already, booktype versions may soon follow.

Today the 1-07 firmware for the ND4551A Labelflash drive has been uploaded too. At the moment only the unmodified version is available. RPC1 and bitsetting may follow too.

Recently the ND7550A firmware 1.01 arrived on my PC too, but I won’t release it before this drive is supported by Binflash.
