This firmware shares the same write strategies, swaps and tweaks as the ND-4551A drive.

Binflash version 1.27 has just been released. It hopefully increases the compatibility when flashing laptop drives. (6100@6500 should be possible again now)

Skin support in Windows GUI which was broken since the change to Visual Studio .NET 2005 should be fixed too.

Today NEC released the 1.06 firmware for the ND3550 and 1.08 firmware for the ND4550. Both are available – including some patched versions – on our site.

Warning: Do not try to use the booktype patched firmwares on a crossflashed drive. This will probably not work as expected.

A few days ago I made a change to the download script on this page. This should hopefully fix the remaining issues some people had with downloading files from our site.

I just made a small update to our site and added some firmwares.

Please note that some of the modified firmwares will NOT work on crossflashed drives

Binflash 1.26 has just been released. Included are support for 6750, 4570 and 4571 drives and a fixed support for 7551 drives.
Due to the new versioning scheme of NEC’s reverse ATA firmwares, the recognition for master and slave drives had to be modified. While this was tested successfully on a 7551 drive, there might still be bugs with different notebook drives.

If anyone downloaded 4570 firmwares already, please delete them from your harddisc and download them again. The old files were corrupted and have been updated by fixed versions now.

A Binflash version with support for 4570 drives will probably be released soon.
