The topic says it all. For the Optiarc AD-5170A firmware 1.12, AD-7170A firmware 1.03 and AD-7173A firmware 1-02 we can now also offer versions that allow bitsetting on DVD+R and (with the usual limitations) on DVD+RW media.

On NEC’s site Firmwares for the Optiarc AD-5170A, AD-7170A and AD-7173A have just been released. You can find the unmodified and region-free RPC1 versions on our site.

I’m sorry that you had to wait for so long, but finally I found some time again to reimplement bitsetting for the Optiarc AD-7543 Firmware 1-00. The reason for the problems was a simple typing error where I wrote “2C” instead of “C2″. Hopefully it’s working correctly now.

Binflash version 1.38 has just been released including support for the Optiarc AD-7173S and I hopefully made it work on OS X 10.3 again (even 10.2 should accept this executable). It would be great if someone can confirm this because I’m unable to use Binflash on a Mac.
